I have books I would like to return to the Library, what do I do?
Materials can be returned to the Library at any time using the book drop beside the front door. Materials returned after hours and on weekends will remain on your account until we open next, during this time it might appear as though you are accumulating fines and fees – Don’t panic! These fines and fees will disappear when staff are on site to empty the return bin.
Online Resources
Students, faculty, and staff will continue to have full access to our licensed eBooks, Journals, and Databases through the Library catalog. Off site access, otherwise known as external authentication, is provided by OpenAthens. Click here for more information on how to use OpenAthens.
Please Note: some resources will present multiple options for gaining access IE. direct login, institutional login, and an OpenAthens login. Please be sure to select OpenAthens in every situation.
If you are having difficulty accessing your library account or accessing our online resources please contact circulation@stmu.ca
Workspace Bookings
Workspace bookings are suspended until the public health measures limiting public access to libraries has been lifted. We will send a notification out to all students when this service resumes with available times and booking procedures.
Success Strategies Seminars
The Library will continue to deliver Library Instruction and Research Workshops in virtual formats during the Winter 2022 semester. These sessions will cover topics such as using the Library catalog, the basics of online research (or rather, more efficient online research), using subject specific databases, and getting the most out of your eBooks. We highly recommend these sessions to anyone looking to reduce the amount of time they spend searching for resources or those looking to get the right results without digging through hundreds of records!
All sessions are offered through the Learning Centre. Schedules and links for registration are available through the student self service portal.

At this time access to the computer labs in the Library remains restricted to scheduled class activities. This restriction will remain in place until provincial health measures have been lifted, after which we will make an announcement and update this page.
